  2. Print Direct uses robust cloud technology, trusted by millions around the world, to enable printing directly over the internet from any web browser on a desktop, laptop or mobile to an assigned printer.
  3. How is Print Direct different from an online printing service?
  4. In online printing, the file to be printed is only submitted to the provider of the service but does not print directly to a print device. Which means after the file is submitted, it has to be printed manually by a person. In Print Direct the print job not only gets submitted but also automatically prints directly over the internet from a web browser on your desktop, laptop or mobile device to an assigned printer, connected to an online computer.

  27. Can a queued print job be paused?
  28. Most print spoolers allow pausing of print jobs. In 'Print and Collect' multiple jobs send by print service users may be queued for printing. Matching print job ID with the printed jobs may get confusing if all jobs are printed together. To avoid mix up print service providers can pause print jobs, giving them time to put completed print jobs into a cover with job ID written on it, before moving on to the next job in queue.
  29. In printers that have multiple trays how is the tray with the correct paper size and paper type required for the job chosen?
  30. Print Direct gets information from the print service provider about the type and size of paper contained in different trays during activation of the service. The Direct Print web application is configured to ensure that the correct tray is selected according to the paper type and size selected by the print service user. Any change made to the paper type and size put in a particular tray should be informed to the Print Direct support team so that it can be updated in the Direct Print web application accordingly.
  31. How to identify which print job belongs to which print service user at the time of collecting the print jobs?
  32. The Print Direct system generates a unique print job ID for each print job. The print job ID is displayed on the browser of the print service user and also in the job history screen of the print service provider when the job is printed. The print service provider puts completed print jobs in a cover with the job ID written on it. When print service users mention the job ID at the time of collection of the print job the print service provider hands over the cover with the matching job ID.
